#Startallback vs start11 install

Last night I reformatted my desktop computer and did a clean install of 10 21H2, since it can’t run Widows 11. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, newer is very rarely better and change is usually bad. And a simple, non-flashy, logical, cohesive user interface. No data mining, spying or telemetry bullshit.

If it was viable, I would still be running Windows 2000. Having something tangible in your hands (physical media) is the only way to go! With dual DVD burners on my desktop and a blu ray burner on my laptop, I’m still cranking out discs, because physical media is superior. The built-in media burning capabilities of Windows have a lot to be desired. Used to be a huge Adaptec/Roxio Easy CD/Media Creator fan, but it got too bloated, went to Nero, it got too bloated, bounced back and forth between the two and have been using Nero for the past 5 - 6 years. Nero Burning Rom, nothing beats physical media, been using it on and off since 2002 and no plans to change. I don’t want an audio service to spy on me and use algorithms to play what it thinks I may like. Don’t use Pandora, don’t use Spotify, don’t use Amazon Music or whatever the trendy service is these days. While it’s a shell of what it once was, I do enjoy streaming audio on Shoutcast. My only problem is it does not scale and is somewhat hard to use on a 4K display. Used be really big into custom skins and plug ins but reverted back to the classic UI. Over two decades later there is still nothing like having Milkdrop spanned across two 27” displays. I prefer the user interface for playlist management on Winamp and the visualizations are amazing. Even with their respective 10 band equalizers set identically, Winamp produces superior audio quality versus VLC to my ears. Winamp, hands down the best media player for audio ever, been using it since 1998 and no plans to change.

wav file and use Nero to make a copy of an Acronis boot CD when I got into work this morning. They bring back memories for me too…memories of about two hours ago. It is so bad and unusable for me, that's when I got serious about finding a solution to this atrocity of a UI. For nearly a week I forced myself to use Windows 11 with it's stock UI at work and I just couldn't take it anymore. Now all I need to do is get the right click context menu back to normal, and Windows 11 will finally be mostly usable for me.ĬlassicShell/OpenShell provides a million and one ways to customize the start menu, Explorer Patcher does the same for the task bar. Aside from the Gear Icon in the tray from Explorer Patcher that can't be removed, I have Windows 11 looking identical to Windows 10.

Windows 95/NT 4.0 Cascading Style Start Menu, Task bar where all tray icons are visible and no tray clutter, no grouping of task bar items, plus a few other things. Well it took me six months of glancing over the second post in the pinned Windows 11 Thread on ClassicShell's Forum but I found my solution.
